Because of the message board and the many emails I receive, I've had a glimpse into how ex-tanners feel about tanning bed use.

Former tanning bed addicts [addicts in the sense that the thought of stopping causes them anxiety and fear] describe their time in the tanning bed as perhaps the only peaceful, stress free time they have each day. In the tanning bed, it's cozy and warm and no one bothers them.

To put it bluntly, they have returned to the womb.

As a result, I feel it is important to make the sunless tanning at home experience a peaceful and quiet time, too.

What a blast! The payoff of this trip came today when we had our Fantasy Tan Fest.

We had arranged to meet Starr and Adele in the lobby of their Marriott at 4 PM. Starr was not sure how many regulars from the sunless.com messageboard would show up for free Fantasy Tans.

The first victim, Jason, a self possessed 18-year-old with type II skin, arrived at 4 PM on the dot. We went up to Starr's and Adele's suite, where Adele, the master of transformation, went to work on him. In just fifteen minutes, he was bronzed.

Shortly thereafter, Rinnie and her sister Elizabeth appeared. Two lovely young pale women, they looked at us all cavorting about the room with a slight amount of trepidation. Starr was stretched out on the bed, looking glamorous in her cream colored outfit. Dave was sitting on the floor with his laptop, working on the message board problem. Jason was only wearing shorts. There was a great deal of giggling going on.

I decided I'd better break the ice by putting on my bathing suit and getting my Fantasy Tan so Rinnie and Elizabeth could see how it all worked.

Since I had just applied a Fantasy Tan Friday night and it was Sunday afternoon, I didn't really need another Fantasy Tan, but I'm greedy.
