Adele showed Rinnie and Elizabeth the Fantasy Tan unit, which was on the sink counter in the bathroom. Adele wielded the Fantasy Tan standing in the bathroom doorway, while the victim stood in the hallway in front of the mirrored closet doors. This worked well, but it meant that the unit wasn't visible unless you peeked in the bathroom.
"That's it?" Rinnie exclaimed, surprised that it could be that small and simple.
Adele gave me light going over, but then also applied what Starr calls Bromo, a bronzing and moisturizing spray that they use on the days they don't need to reapply any DHA [dihydroxyacetone, the active ingredient in sunless tanners].
Elizabeth was next. A senior in high school, she is a blond, blue-eyed type I who has never had a tan of any kind. By the time Adele was done with her, she had a terrific tan line. It was truly enjoyable to see the smile on her face when she saw her "tan" in the mirror.
Rinnie was next, also a type I, but with brown hair. She used tanning beds when she was younger, but has fortunately stopped, and now uses sunless tanning products only.
After she put on her bathing suit, her sister Elizabeth, who had been tanned for all of thirty minutes, gave her a pitying look that said, "You are so pale!"
How soon they adapt!
Adele put a coat of Bromo on over Rinnie's Fantasy Tan as well, and the results were terrific.
Now it was time to put the pressure on Dave.
I had convinced him to bring along a robe and bathing suit; before he knew what was happening, the poor thing had fallen victim to Adele and her air brush.
While it had been fascinating to see Jason, Rinnie, and Elizabeth get their tans, it was downright eerie to see four years of paleness disappear in a few minutes on Dave. A type one and a half [he gets a teeny bit of color in the sun] with dark blond hair and blue eyes, the tan was most becoming to him.
After we were all tanned, and Adele was taking a much deserved rest, we went to the Marriott executive lounge and ate snacks. Then Elizabeth and Rinnie, who had driven more than an hour to join us, had to go home, alas.
Adele, Jason, Dave and I went downstairs to the American Grill to eat a casual supper, while Starr took care of some pressing business chores in their suite.
