I had always wanted to try Doctor's Dermatologic Formula, or DDF. Their SPF 30 matte sun screen has gotten raves from many Sunless.com visitors, but no one has tried their sunless tanning product.
Usually priced at $21 for 4 ounces, it is one of the more expensive brands. Fortunately, I was able to enjoy one of the benefits of the convention: wholesale prices. So I bought the sunless tanner, the SPF 30 matte sun screen, and a coconut exfoliating lotion.
That's right. A coconut exfoliating lotion. Why, why, did I get only one of each?

Healthy Tan
Savvy of the 80% female audience at the convention, Healthy Tan had a male model. I wasn't able to get much information, unfortunately, because the counter was constantly besieged.
Even from a distance, however, I could see the equipment; the same type that Fantasy Tan used three years ago.
Once Fantasy Tan took off, numerous air brush tanning companies sprung up. Cosmetic air brushes have been around for years, and so has DHA; as a concept, it seems relatively simple to imitate.
So how does a salon looking to add air brush tanning to their offerings choose?
They will have to compare the products offered, the training and support, and the price and variety of supplies. That is how the air brush tanning manufacturers will distinguish themselves.
The airbrush tanning market is large enough to support more than one company, but not hundreds. In the next few years, we will see who the leaders will be. Healthy Tan has been making headway.
Normally, as a consumer, my viewpoint on competition is: the more the merrier. But as a proponent of sunless tanning, I take a more conservative view.
If numerous companies spring up but do not service their distributors well or train their operators, the consumer will form a bad view of this technology, which will cast a pall on the entire concept of airbrush tanning.

John Abaté has long been known as the premiere supplier of indoor tanning lotions. Recently, they have taken the plunge into body care and facial care products.
Their sunless tanning product, which has the crisp, dry smell of lavender, is one of my favorite products.
One thing I knew about their skin care line; whatever else it might be, it was going to smell good.
I picked up most of the products in a great sample pack; unfortunately, in a fit of generosity, I gave it to someone.
