Jodi and Frank went next. In Jodi's words the next day:

"The booth is amazingly easy to use! The smell is almost nonexistent. Even hours later and this morning I can't smell any DHA. I noticed color right away but it really developed over the next several hours. I wore teeny bathing suit bottoms into the booth because I wanted to see a tan line and the playboy bunny sticker offered by the salon owner was not my speed. Anyway, wow! Do I have a tan line!"

"I'm going to take a photograph today to send to Clara. The results are very even and very dark. I will say that my hands and feet have a strange cast to them and I think next time I will rub lotion on them 30 minutes after using the booth and see if that lightens them up. I wish there was a way to get a more even and natural look on the feet!"

One day later, she added: "It is two days and one shower (yes, only one shower) later and I have a very realistic, even, medium color."

"I only did one Mystic application and they recommend two. I am really impressed with my hands. I applied the barrier cream to my palms and my fingernails and my hands look more realistic than any other time I've used a sunless tanner on them."

If you think my Mystic Tan looked darker than Jodi's, it probably was, as I used the Mystic Tan twice that day, while she used it just once.

Frank went to a party that evening, where some pictures were taken of him with his tan. But I still haven't received those photos, so his tan on the next page is courtesy of Adobe Photoshop 5.5 — used by celebrities everywhere!

Now that I've experienced the Mystic Tan outside of the Palm Beach Tan setting [Palm Beach Tan manufactures and franchises the Mystic Tan unit nationally], I have been mulling over the future of Dr. Laughlin's invention. Will it have smooth sailing?

From the Message board I've learned that some people have had poor experiences with the Mystic Tan. Invariably, it turns out that the local operators have altered the solution used in the Mystic Tan unit — for instance, leaving out the moisturizer.
