Sunless Tanning Contest 2000

Contestant Number Six

First Place

Contestant SixMs. Six, also known as Chelly, asks: Who says you can't get a tan by the light of the moon?

Chelly has skin type I, fair with freckles, extremely hard to believe from these photos. But she adds soberingly that she has had a dozen moles removed, two with pre-melanoma cells.

She layered two different products for her entry.

Contestant SixToma's Tan Perfect on arms, hands, legs and feet; partial back and stomach, partial chest. Paradise Gold Streakless Sunless Medium To Dark Tan Creme was used on the same places plus face and neck.

Paradise Gold Streakless Sunless Medium To Dark Tan Creme was applied morning of day one, Toma's Tan Perfect applied evening of day one. Toma's Tan Perfect applied evening of day two. Each time, she used the Baby Oil Gel ten minutes before.

Contestant SixToma's Tan Perfect, which has a tint, was washed off before the photos were taken. On her face, she is wearing Cover Girl Pressed Powder in the Toasted Almond shade, plus lipstick and eye makeup.

She used a sponge paint applicater with an extended handle to apply the sunless tanner to her back, and she wore gloves.

Twelve hours elapsed between the last application and the taking of the photos.

Chelly's tip: "I always use Johnsons Baby Oil Gel on my dry spots (knees, elbows, etc.) I apply a thin coat at least five minutes prior to applying my sunless tanner. This seems to help them blend in better and not look so much darker than the rest of my body."
