Algotherm Self Tanning Cream

With an odd name that sounds like something youd use to treat your swimming pool, Algotherm is a lesser known French line that has an extensive line up of skin care products, on par with Clarins. Their gimmick, as you may have guessed from the name, is loads of algae. Their sunless tanning product has many unnecessary ingredients that are more commonly found in indoor tanning products: tyrosine and beta carotene among them, which, the package claims, "sets off the bronzing process." Not. Like all sunless tanners, Algotherm Self Tanning Cream contains dihydroxyacetone, which is absorbed into the outermost layer of dead skin cells where it turns brown.

Hyperbole aside, this is a nice product that is easy to apply, and gives a light/medium brown color with one application. Men may find the fragrance a little too flowery. I preferred the fragrance in it to other French lines such as Lancome, Decleor, and Clarins. The thin textured lotion is absorbed quickly into the skin and leaves you feeling non sticky, always a plus.

The ONLY reason I'm not giving this product a 5 is because I can only find one place to buy it on-line and it's too expensive. However, I do and will continute to spend the money on it every winter, it's a wonderful light ST to wear to

Very pleasant smelling and good light/medium brown color; too darn expensive.
