Clara Pettitt, © 2003. All Rights Reserved. Mist-On Tan The Mist-On Tan is a booth that automatically applies a sunless tanning solution to your entire body in a less than a minute. The Mist-On Tan has several key differences from its close relative the Mystic Tan [both were invented and patented by Dr. Tom Laughlin]. Key difference number one: The Mist-On Tan makes four passes with the solution, while the Mystic Tan makes two. Key difference number two: The Mist-On Tan is manufactured, sold and serviced by Dr. Tom Laughlin's company Mist-On Systems, Inc., while the Mystic Tan is franchised, serviced, and promoted by Mystic Tan, Inc. Is one better than the other? That's a matter of preference. I have tried both and liked both, particularly after Mystic Tan improved their formula a few months ago. However, the Mist-On Tan clearly does a better job of applying the immediate bronzer. With both booths, how well the customer follows the instructions has a significant effect on results. I am likely to make more return visits to the Mist-On Tan, however, because in my area I can buy two Mist-On Tan sessions for $37, while one Mystic Tan session is $25. My wallet has spoken. Visit the web site www.mist-on.com for the latest location information. Salon owners interested in either the Mystic Tan or the Mist-On Tan, please go to their respective web sites, www.mist-on.com and www.mystictan.com. Maybe ask for some tips from the employees? I'm thankful the girl at Island Magic was so attentive! If you're ever in Idaho. |
